Claus Preisinger

Claus Preisinger was born in 1980 in Eisenstadt. After attending viticulture high school in Klosterneuburg, he gained experience abroad including California. Subsequently, he worked for three years as a winemaker with Hans & Anita Nittnaus.

The wines from the 2000 vintage catapulted Claus Preisinger into the elite league of Austrian winemakers. Winning the Falstaff red wine trophy with his Paradigma in 2002 caused a stir and made him known among wine lovers overnight. Nevertheless, he continued working with Hans Nittnaus until the 2003 vintage.

He simultaneously introduced his first own wines in 2002. In 2004 he was accepted into the renowned “Pannobile” association of wineries. In 2006 he converted to biodynamic winegrowing. Claus Preisinger obtained several accolades and top scores from wine publications. He processes grapes from around 40 ha (100 acres) on the north shore of Lake Neusiedl.
