Matthieu Barret Petit Ours 2018

Matthieu Barret is a young and enthusiastic winegrower who settled in Cornas in 1998. He practices biodynamic viticulture, obtaining very low yields (23 hl/ha) and extraordinary quality. He describes his wines as being 100% grape, with a very low sulphite addition. His wines are extremely clean, and, true to the Cornas character, their tannins are not as rustic as in others from the area.

This cuvée on fruit owes its name to the nickname of Mathieu Barret "Petit Ours", attributed by the very famous winegrower from the Jura, Stéphane Tissot. Referring to the free, pragmatic and constantly evolving side of Mathieu. Qualities found in this vintage, on the fruit expressing a range of pleasure.

100% Syrah, on a clay-limestone soil and a fairly deep clay soil. This is so fresh and juicy with a lot of  blackcurrant and blackberries; The palate offers a more subtle, supple and crunchy syrah than usual.
