Energetic and opulent, presenting loads of succulent black fruit, liquorice and spice, all atop a brooding foundation of earth, smoke, warm saddle leather and cigar wrapper, the Contrada oscillates between notes of pure, juicy fruit and gamey, smoky flavours. Offering a velvety mouth-feel and a kaleidoscopic finish, the ’08 it ferments in cement and ages for two years in oak barrels + six months in concrete tanks followed by a year in bottle before release.
